At the Dr. Hawa Abdi Foundation, our mission is to create access to basic human rights in Somalia through building sustainable institutions in healthcare, education, agriculture, and social entrepreneurship.

Our vision is to generate socially empowered and environmentally-responsible communities committed to sustaining long-lasting peace in Somalia.

The nucleus of our operations has been Hope Village, where we have provided more than 10,000 internally-displaced people access to shelter, food, education, healthcare, and other services.

But our work has long gone beyond the Village: we have offered health care services, training, and community health education in neighboring towns, and we are piloting educational programs to share with educators in other post-conflict nations.
