APR: Through the Fire Film Premieres
The Dr. Hawa Abdi Foundation is partnering with various supporters to bring the documentary, Through the Fire, to your city this April!
The film captures the inspirational stories of Dr. Hawa Abdi, Dr. Edna Adan, and Ilwad Elman, in their courageous work as empowered women to transform Somalia.
Dr. Deqo Mohamed, CEO of DHAF, will join in Q&A sessions post-screening to discuss with the audience what it’s like to bring peace and development to one of the most volatile places in the world.

MAR 27: Lecture at Columbia Global Centres- Africa, with Dr. Deqo Aden Mohamed

Dr. Mohamed will speak on the challenges her family has faced over the past three decades serving the most vulnerable population in Somalia. She will share their future plans and then take questions from the audience.
Her mother’s memoir, Keeping Hope Alive, will be available for sale, and all proceeds will go to DHAF.
The lecture is free and open to all on a first-come, first-served basis, but you must pre-register to attend.
